Vibes co-founders Jack Philbin and Alex Campbell have been friends and entrepreneurial sidekicks since kindergarten. After college, both saw the immense promise of the then-new mobile messaging revolution, as SMS messaging began to migrate from its overseas, “triple-tap” roots onto the handsets and carrier networks of North America.
Starting from their one-bedroom apartment, they quickly built extremely close, trusted relationships and direct connections with over 65 North American mobile carriers like Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T, while simultaneously building a downtown Chicago-based company and a robust platform that created personal and revenue-driving mobile engagement between consumers and the brands they love.
Philbin and Campbell recognized early on that the intersection between messaging and marketers would present an enormous opportunity for customer engagement and monetization, and that consumers would thrive on the personal connections that SMS enabled them to have with friends, family and even the brands & businesses they chose to engage with.
